Cross Country League Meet

Every year at the end of the cross country season, there is a league meet where all the teams from the league gather to race one last time for the season. Some of these runners will go off to districts, regionals and even state. However, for many the league meet is their final race.

The West Clermont Wolves showed their first appearance in the ECC conference meet on Saturday October 15th. This conference meet included teams from Anderson, Loveland, Kings, Milford, Turpin, and Walnut Hills. As majority of the team cam

e from the SBACC league last year, this is a big change. “This meet is much more competitive but, nothing we can’t handle” says captain,Emily Lagana.

Leading up to this meet, runners took it easy at practice in hope for peaking at the league meet. This weekend 17 runners had a new personal record, 11 girls and 6 boys. Girls with new records include Maddie Walker, Lauren Hackney, Chloe Lehn, Brooke Hall, Coleen Arrasmith, Sophie Palmer, Tawni Thuma, Margret York, E

mily Lagana, and Natalie Homan. Boys with personal records include; Jesse Bi

ngamon, Chaz Simmermon, Wade Broughton, Will Palmer, Ethan Moore, and Jonathan Adams.

Winning the league for the girls was runner Maddie Walker who not only beat the county record, but also Coach Michelle’s Thomas’s previous high school record. Walker ran a 17:30, not far behind in 4th place was Morgan Walsh. Both girls ran an impressive race and are looking to advance to state again this year.

This Saturday October 21, the top 7 boys and girls from each team will be running in the District meet at Voice of America park. Wish your cross country team good luck as they compete for a spot in the Regional Race in Troy, Ohio.
