First Dance of WC!

This weekend West Clermont’s very own dance company performed their first showcase for the school, Meet the Company! Composed of 79 very talented dancers the company will be gaining around 23 more dedicated performers after this season after fall sports wraps up. The auditorium seats were filled and there much anticipation by students, teachers and all of those involved in the work put into the show. Practicing since school started every Tuesday and Thursday after school till 6:30, the dancers have been widely dedicated to perfecting their movements to the best of their ability, with the guidance of Ms Erwin.

At the show the audience was able to see an incredibly smooth performance, what they didn’t see was all the hard work that goes in behind the scenes, the costuming, the endurance, strength, flexibility, and dedication on & off the dance floor, it all pays off very well as it is all too evident how well trained these students are, surpassing all expectations with ability and absolute flair. From level one with the novice and danseur teams, all the way to the virtuoso and the virtuoso danseur there is such an aptitude for precise technique. It’s astounding to see such hard work pay off so beautifully. The company has proven to be a place where every kind of person can express themselves in a creative space.

The week leading up, referred to as show week, is jammed pack with practice everyday till at least 7 and hugs amounts of anticipation as the company prepared for their debut of all new dances.

Be prepared for the next showcases! “So You Think You can Choreograph” will be ready on December 2nd and “Evening of Dance” will showcases will be the first Thursday, Friday and Saturday of May! Support your local dancers!
