Odell Beckham Jr. Headed to Cleveland

New York Giants general manager Dave Gettleman took the podium on Feb. 27 addressing the rumors swirling around their star wide receiver. The Giants signed Odell to a five year, $90 million extension in August 2018. “We didn’t sign Odell to trade him,” Gettleman said. On March 12, only 13 days later, the New York Giants traded Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns for first and third round picks and safety Jabrill Peppers.

Odell Beckham Jr. and Browns receiver Jarvis Landry were college teammates together and are still very close friends. They are now being reunited being led by a second year quarterback in Baker Mayfield.

Since entering the league in 2014, OBJ ranks third in targets per game (10.5), fourth in receptions per game (6.6), third in receiving yards per game (92.8) and third in receiving touchdowns (44). His new teammate, Mayfield, established an NFL rookie record for touchdown passes.

Cleveland has a very powerful offense with Mayfield, Beckham, Landry, power back Nick Chubb, receiving back Duke Johnson, running back Kareem Hunt, and tight end David Njoku. The new look of the Browns will be interesting to watch.
