On October 8, 2019, the popular video game developer Blizzard Entertainment banned a Hearthstone player for supporting Hong Kong during the Hong Kong protests. The player, Ng “Blitzchung” Wai Chung, was banned for a year when during an interview he pulled down a Hong Kong protester style mask and yelled, “Liberate Hong Kong!” He is one of the top players in the Asian region. In response, Blizzard Entertainment banned the player for one year and revoked any money won from the grandmaster’s tournament.
