One more dangerous development of the virus is on a cruise ship, the Costa Cruises’ Costa Smeralda. A passenger from Macau, China, came down with flu-like symptoms aboard the ship and is holding the entire crew and passengers in an Italian port. There is still, including these, over 100 cases under investigation throughout the world of the coronavirus. It has even spread to Europe with cases popping up in Germany. The CDC is screening travelers at large airports such as Chicago O’Hare and Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson. The United States has evacuated all US citizens from Wuhan, and other first-world countries, like the UK and Sweden, and debating about pulling their citizens out. The United States is also debating about putting a temporary travel ban on China in order. This Coronavirus is spreading a lot quicker than the CDC and other health officials had originally thought. It can survive on a surface for up to five days and can infect you by touching it or breathing the virus in. Yahoo recommends the best way to protect yourself from the virus is to stay away from other people while in public. Always practice standard hygiene, such as washing your hands, and you should be safe from the virus. The virus has been officially declared a global health emergency by WHO on January 30, 2020.

The virus has even garnered attention from the President of the United States. Trump states that it will have “a very good ending for us … that I can assure you.” He also stated that “Hopefully it won’t be as bad as some people think it could be.” He is working closely with China to combat the virus. He thanks the Chinese President, Xi Jinping, for his “transparency” of the virus, its symptoms, and it’s transmission. Trump states that all cases in the United States are “recuperating” successfully.
