1. Villanova Wildcats
The 2018 National Champions after a buzzer beater against North Carolina is on high upset alert as they are without their star point guard Collin Gillespie. The Wildcats are coming off a Big East Championship Loss to Patrick Ewing’s Georgetown Hoyas by a point. Villanova will be playing against 12 seed Winthrop Eagles who are 23-1 and are trying to beat the Wildcats early in an early exit of the NCAA Tournament. Watch out for Villanova on your brackets because without star PG Collin Gillespie they could be in for a rude awakening against
- BYU Cougars
The number 6 seed BYU Cougars will play the winner of the first 4 game between Michigan St. Spartans and the UCLA Bruins. I believe that BYU is overseeded. Yes they are a good basketball program but the competition they have faced I can see them as a 7 or 8 seed. Sparty has had a lot of quad 1 wins this year because of the B1G 10 and if they beat the UCLA Bruins on Thursday I can definitely see Michigan St. beating the Cougars. If UCLA wins it will be a closer matchup where you never know what UCLA team is going to show up on a game to game basis. Don’t be surprised if BYU has an early exit out of the big dance.
- Colorado Bison
The Bison are a 3rd and final team to watch out for because they are playing against a hot Georgetown Hoyas who is coming off a big win against the Villanova WIldcats. Even though this might not be a team that is on a big upset team but they have not been producing on offense here recently and being in these closely contested contests has me a little worried as Georgetown is red hot and is keeping their momentum into the NCAA tournament. Georgetown is going to be one of those sleeper teams that could possibly make a run in the NCAA Tournament this year.
