What are Acrylic Nail?

Acrylic nails are a combination of a liquid monomer and a powder polymer. When put together they form a past like substance that you can shape onto the nail. Later on when it dries you can file it down to your desired thickness. To work with acrylic nails you have to be able to get the ratio of liquid monomer to powder polymer right. If there is too much powder it won’t be able to stick to the nail and will be harder to shape. But if you get it just right everything will go on smoothly.
What are Poly Gel nails?

Poly gel can be put over the natural nail as a strengthener or as a nail enhancement (longer). Poly gel is a little different to acrylic because 1. You don’t have to mix anything together and 2. You use a UV light to cure it. It also doesn’t have much of a smell to it like Acrylic. Poly gel is actually almost a combination of acrylic nails and gel nails. It is a mix of acrylic powder in a gel base.
The Positives and Negatives
Let’s look at the positives and the negatives. Acrylic nails are strong but are harder to work with and master. Polygel is not necessarily soft but less stronger than acrylics. Poly gel is also easy to work with and you don’t have to worry about a ration like acrylics.
So what do we think?
In my personal opinion I think poly gel is better. Having worked with it before it is easy and you don’t have to do much filing, you also don’t have to work with combining the two chemicals together. I hope this little reading helped you to find which product you would like to use. Be creative and have fun doing nails. 🙂
